Woman owned and operated (we love that.), The Rose is San Diego’s hidden wine gem showcasing an eclectic selection of natural and biodynamic wines from around the world. In fact, the 2 wines that I tried in my first experience were a South African Rosé and a Red Blend from Greece. Pretty unique, right? Certainly not your average wine list. But, why are natural and biodynamic wines so desirable, you ask? Natural wines are made with as little ‘fussing’ as possible by the winery. This means no added chemicals, sulfites, or pesticides, and little to no technology aiding in the wines production. All natural wines are farmed organically in the most minimal way possible creating very clean and unique wines. Natural wine making is growing in popularity, but are oddly rare to find on your average wine list or in your local liquor store. Hence, why The Rose should be on your radar.

The Rose also acts as a wine shop allowing you to take bottles home, or enjoy in the quaint café. They have an impressive food menu handmade and sourced from local farmers across San Diego county. We even ordered their ‘ranch and ruffles’ to snack on and the ranch dressing was in fact homemade and oh, so delicious. With a knowledgeable staff, cozy atmosphere, and impressive wine selection, The Rose would impress even the snobbiest of Sommelier’s.
