Staying Healthy Amidst a Heavy Wine Diet.

Something I have researched, experienced, and mastered. How we stay healthy, glowy, and energetic while still drinking wine daily.

There is no worse feeling than being hungover. You’ve been there, I’ve certainly been there. That sluggish, seasick, anxiety ridden waste of a day is something none of us want to ever experience. But.. we love to drink. Here are my *proven successful* tips at staying happy, healthy, and anxiety free, all with flawless, glowing skin, while still drinking wine every night.

DRINK WATER. SERIOUSLY.. A LOT OF IT.

You’ve heard it since the dawn of time. But it works, trust. Chug water all day long until you are peeing every 5 minutes, and you can down a bottle of the richest Cabernet Franc without feeling slightly sluggish the next day. Water is truly the answer to having energy, feeling clear, and looking dewy as the day, even after some mild to heavy partying.

DON’T SKIP YOUR SKINCARE REGIME.

I have totally been there. Stumbling in and craving nothing more than to crawl into bed and pass the fuck out. DON’T EVER DO THAT. Make SURE you take off all your makeup, DO THE DOUBLE CLEANSE, and moisturize. Moisturize HARD. Slather coconut oil all over that mug and call it a night. Besides, even if you feel like shit the next day, at least you aren’t dealing with zits for the next 2 weeks.

2 ADVIL BEFORE BED.

This. Works. I don’t recommend it every night, for healthy liver reasons. But taking 2 advil after a night of drinking, for some reason, always helps me sleep through the night. Did you know that with too much alcohol in your system you never hit REM? Aka, deep beauty sleep. When you haven’t slept well, you sure as hell don’t feel well. And you look even worse. This trick also will do wonders with that morning headache.

A GOOD VITAMIN ROUTINE.

Vitamins are great. I love HUM the most, for it’s beauty benefits. But since I’ve started taking milk thistle for my liver, omega’s for my heart, and chlorella for an overall detox, I have noticed lessened hangovers as well as more energy throughout the day. Even when you have those unhealthy days, backing up with some powerful vitamins can truly make all the difference.

EAT HEALTHY AND DRINK WATER WHENEVER YOU CAN.

If you CAN, order the kale salad with a lemon water. Just do it. After that, order the chocolate mousse with a Rosé. It is truly all about balance. Get your nutrients, hydrate, and then proceed with sugar + booze. Your body will thank you mucho.

AFTER EVERY 2 GLASSES OF WINE, A GLASS OF WATER.

I may as well get LA MER tattooed on my body. My trick of the trade is after every 2 glasses of wine, a big glass of water. This can keep you going all night long, without feeling drunk. It’s weird.. even though I LOVE drinking and obviously chose to go to wine school over any other school, I don’t like being wasted. I’m way too much of a control freak to let myself get that out of control. SO water is my Godsend on those long wine tasting trips. AND my savior in making a one day wine tasting trip, 2 days.

SELF LOVE.

Meditate. Do yoga. Read. Put your phone down. Breathe. Live in the moment. Be gracious. The same tips you give yourself to lead a happy life, practice it every day. Especially the days you aren’t feeling too hot.
